The enlisted promotion system supports DoD Directive 1304.20, *Enlisted Personnel Management System (EPMS)*.
Purpose of the System
- Provide visible, relatively stable career progression opportunities
- Attract, retain, and motivate the people the military needs
- Ensure uniform application of the principle of equal pay for equal work among the services
